Curious? There’s more.
AMG is proud to support CCTA in delivering the 511 Contra Costa E-Bike Rebate Program, an initiative that’s redefining local transportation and helping residents make cleaner, healthier choices for everyday travel.
Since the program’s launch in October 2020, CCTA has distributed more than 2,100 e-bike rebates, empowering residents across Contra Costa County to replace car trips with electric rides.
Through community partnerships, outreach, and program management by AMG, the rebate initiative has grown into a true regional success story. Alongside the primary program, CCTA’s Charge Up Contra Costa effort provided an additional 205 high-value rebates for income-qualified residents in priority communities including Richmond, Pittsburg, and San Pablo.
Rebate recipients have become local “E-Bike Ambassadors,” sharing their enthusiasm — and results — with friends and family. In fact, 68% of participants report inspiring someone else to purchase an e-bike.
By offering smaller rebates ($150–$500) instead of a few large ones, the program—managed and delivered by AMG—was able to reach more participants for every dollar spent. The average e-bike cost $1,737, and data shows that lower-cost bikes are just as effective in replacing short vehicle trips.
The results are impressive: 85% of riders use their e-bikes for trips they previously took by car, averaging 6.2 miles round trip. A year after receiving their rebate, nearly 80% still ride at least once a week for commuting, errands, and recreation.
With an exceptional 80% survey response rate, participants overwhelmingly describe the program as “life-changing” for its health, financial, and environmental benefits.
Participant feedback has also provided valuable insight for future investments—highlighting the need for safer bike lanes, secure parking, and complete streets to sustain Contra Costa’s e-bike momentum.
AMG is honored to partner with CCTA in advancing programs that move the region toward a more sustainable, connected, and people-centered transportation future.
