In collaboration with Contra Costa Transportation Authority (CCTA), Tri Delta Transit and East Contra Costa cities, Advanced Mobility Group (AMG) is assisting Glydways with the implementation of a temporary, low-impact, and demonstration project at GoMentum Station, in Concord, CA. The demonstration will validate Glydways’ proprietary, scalable Automated Transportation Network (ATN)-based transportation solution. Glydways technology is a closed grade, autonomous electric, mass micro transit solution with a virtual rail and tires on a fixed pathway, that offers private rides that are on demand, safe and non-stop.

Glydways aims to help expand public transit and economic development with its low cost, sustainable, and scalable system, and is poised to offer a viable first-mile/last-mile solution to transit accessibility challenges. The system can be built at a fraction of the cost of other historical rail/light rail transit solutions; requiring much less right-of-way.

The future opportunities are promising largely due to its equitability, accessibility, and privacy. Glydways’ low wait times are a bonus: no scheduling is required, and a personal ride is ready in seconds! COVID-19 taught us some things about ridership preference. Glydways vehicles are a private and social distancing compatible mobility option with built in cleaning and sanitizing elements and can even clean themselves!

Project Status

Concurrent with the implementation of the demonstration project, and in collaboration with the cities of Antioch, Brentwood, Oakley, and Pittsburg, AMG has conducted a East Contra Costa County (ECCC) Dynamic Personal Micro Transit feasibility study (Study) for the ECCC ATN Project to analyze the viability of the project and potential benefits for the surrounding communities and region. The Study concluded that implementation of the technology would deliver substantial benefits to the region. Subsequently, the Contra Costa Transportation Authority (CCTA) and Tri Delta Transit partnered to further advance the Project. In September 2023, CCTA awarded a Public Private Partnership (P3) contract to East County Connection Partners, LLC (ECCP), a partnership between Glydways, Plenary Americas; and Flatiron to move forward with project development activities.
