Advanced Mobility Group Helps Pave the Way for Transportation Innovation

9th Annual Redefining Mobility Summit a Success

Since its inception in 2014, GoMentum Station has been at the forefront of transportation research and development. As a hub for testing and refining cutting-edge mobility solutions, it has attracted the attention of industry leaders, policymakers, and researchers alike. One pivotal event that underscores GoMentum’s commitment to progress is the annual Redefining Mobility Summit, which debuted in 2015.

On Tuesday, May 7, 2024, Contra Costa Transportation Authority (CCTA), along with its partners, hosted the 9th Annual Redefining Mobility Summit (RMS) in San Ramon, California. This yearly event convenes leaders from government, industry, and the global community to discuss the transformative impact of innovative research and advanced technologies on the future of transportation.

The summit serves as a critical platform for advancing transportation technologies that are focused on improving the operational efficiencies, safety, and sustainability within the transportation ecosystem. Each year, AMG has the honor of supporting CCTA in this endeavor. AMG’s enthusiasm and dedication are reflected in the success of these transformative initiatives and the sustainability of the event.

AMG works diligently behind the scenes to support CCTA and actively contributes to shaping the summit’s agenda, fostering public-private partnerships, and inspiring the next generation by including local STEM programs in the experience. At the heart of this collaborative effort lies the vision of a more interconnected and eco-friendly transportation system. The summit’s discussions span a wide range of topics, from autonomous vehicles and smart infrastructure to shared mobility services. By promoting dialogue and knowledge exchange, the Redefining Mobility Summit contributes to the realization of Vision Zero goals—aiming for zero traffic fatalities—and aligns with global climate objectives.

East Contra Costa County (ECCC) Dynamic Personal Micro Transit project

A key strategy emphasized during the summit involves encouraging a shift away from single-occupant vehicles. Through improved user experiences, reliable transit connections, and affordable alternatives, the goal is to make shared modes of transportation more appealing. By doing so, we pave the way for a future where mobility is not only efficient but also sustainable and accessible to all.

Numerous groundbreaking initiatives emerge each year, and among them stands the ECCC Dynamic Personal Micro Transit project. At RMS 2024 Glydways unveiled their new Glydcar which will be used in the first on-demand driverless public transportation system in Eastern Contra Costa County, to connect Pittsburg, Antioch, Oakley and Brentwood. It’ll be privately financed and is expected to roll out by 2030.
