The event celebrated community spirit around biking and walking and highlighted the growing regional movement toward active, sustainable mobility.

The Bike Family Fest (BFF) transformed downtown Pleasant Hill into a hub of activity, with food trucks, vendors, music, and interactive zones designed to inspire cycling confidence and community spirit. The event showcased the power of public engagement in advancing active transportation and bike safety, particularly among children and families new to cycling.

As event director, Cara De Jong—now a member of the AMG team—led every aspect of coordination, from securing sponsorships to collaborating with the City of Pleasant Hill and regional organizations. Her leadership and dedication brought together more than 40 volunteers and countless community members, creating a welcoming, educational, and fun experience for all.

The overwhelming response from attendees and the growing interest in future collaborations underscore how community-based events like BFF contribute to AMG’s broader mission: creating safer, more connected, and more sustainable neighborhoods through innovative mobility engagement.
