Mountain House, CA — On July 1, 2024, California welcomed its 483rd city, and it’s none other than the vibrant community of Mountain House. Nestled in San Joaquin County, just 60 miles east of San Francisco, Mountain House has a rich history that dates back to its inception as a planned community in 1996.

A Vision Realized: From Community Services District to Cityhood

“Make no little plans. They have no magic to stir men’s blood and probably themselves will not be realized. Make big plans; aim high in hope and work, remembering that a noble, logical diagram once recorded will never die, but long after we are gone will be a living thing, asserting itself with ever-growing insistency. Remember that our sons and grandsons are going to do things that would stagger us. Let your watchword be order and your beacon beauty. Think big.” – Daniel Burnham, American architect (1864-1912)

Mountain House’s journey from being only a vision to a Master Plan Community, to an unincorporated community, to a full-fledged city, is a testament to many people’s perseverance to “Think Big” and its growth and resilience.

Since the early 2000, one of AMG’s engineers (Christopher Thnay, PE, AICP) has assisted in the approvals of various Specific Plans to develop citywide roadway network with wide sidewalks to connect them to state-of-the-art schools, parks, and cutting-edge technology that links all the traffic signals. Today, as the city continues to expand, AMG continues its assistance in maintaining community safety and ensuring that Mountain House thrives while safeguarding its residents.

Pioneering Traffic Engineering Services

In collaboration with Mountain House staff, AMG continues to offer its expertise to ensure the City’s continued development and provide quality of life for all its residents.  From efficient road networks to pedestrian-friendly designs, AMG prioritizes the well-being of Mountain House residents.  Their expertise in traffic engineering and planning will contribute to the community’s safety as it grows.

We look forward to the City’s continued prosperity. Congratulations!
